Women of colour deserve to be well

Since 2017, our organization’s mission has been to create accessible wellness spaces for women of colour. We design mindful experiences and provide resources that support women from all communities of colour on their wellness journey.

Women of The Villij

Inspired by the African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child”, meet the women creating opportunities for their community.

How do you define wellness?

“Wellness is a journey. It is imperfect and can sometimes be challenging. I believe that wellness is whatever that I feel is right for me mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically, without causing harm to others.”

How do you define wellness?

“There is something liberating about knowing what you need to do to feel whole. Wellness is freedom. Continuous investments into our personal well-being contribute to healthy connections within our communities and ourselves.”

How do you define wellness?

“Wellness is about simplicity and taking a holistic approach to your emotional, physical and mental well-being. In a consumer-based culture, wellness is often packaged as something you can buy your way towards, but when you focus on the simple things in life, like breathing consciously and living in the present, you discover that well-being is a state that stems from within.”

Build healthy communities, together.
